Nurturing Well-being: A Glimpse into the RPg Wellness Initiative 2025/26

The Graduate School is dedicated to nurturing the holistic well-being of our students. The theme of our Future-Ready Series: Research Postgraduate Wellness Initiative this year is ‘In the Moment 在當下’, centering on the idea of mindfulness and present-moment awareness for maintaining balance amidst academic and personal challenges. We encourage students to take intentional pauses to reflect and to build resilience. Come and join our monthly wellness activities to take a break for a few hours and get refreshed! To reinforce this message, all students will receive a specially designed zipper bag as a keepsake, symbolising the importance of carrying wellness alongside their academic pursuits. Through these initiatives, we aim to raise students’ awareness of the importance of self-care and emotional well-being as they navigate their research journey.
Building a Supportive RPg Community with Wellness Ambassadors
We all grow stronger through shared support. The Wellness Ambassador Programme fosters peer support by bringing together a diverse team of 80 students from various backgrounds. In collaboration with our partnering units, tailored training sessions are provided for our Wellness Ambassadors, including the Mental Health First Aid Course offered by Mind HK, communication skills workshops coordinated by CEDARS, and a mindfulness facilitator training session delivered by JC PandA, as well as a new suicide prevention session conducted by the HKJC Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention and an expressive arts workshop by the Centre on Behavioral Health. Take the initiative to connect with our Wellness Ambassadors to share your concerns, seek advice, and build your support network – connect with our 2025/26 RPg Wellness Ambassadors now!

Monthly Wellness Activities for All
Wellness activities are organised monthly to give RPg students opportunities to pause, recharge, and connect with peers. The energising November GymFit Circuit Training session was both challenging and enjoyable, leaving participants with a sense of accomplishment. In December, students explored using photography as a medium to express emotions and develop deeper appreciation for both beauty and imperfection.
