HKU Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition 2022

More than 30 research postgraduate (RPg) students challenged themselves to submit video presentations of up to just three minutes – targeted at a non-specialist audience – of their research project and its significance, for HKU’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition 2022.

The 3MT was developed by The University of Queensland, Australia in 2008 to celebrate the discoveries made by RPg students and encourage them to develop the skills to communicate the importance of their research to the broader community. The HKU 3MT Competition was jointly organised by the Graduate School and the Knowledge Exchange Office (KEO) in April to June, 2022.

The adjudicating panel comprised Professor Max Shen, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), Acting Director of the KEO and Dean of the Graduate School (Chair of the panel); Professor Anderson Shum, Associate Vice-President (Research and Innovation); Professor Dong-Yan Jin, Senior Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Partnership) of the Graduate School; Dr. Duangporn Duangthip of the Faculty of Dentistry; and Professor Nancy Law of the Faculty of Education.
