Applications for the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowships for Postgraduate Research Students 2024/25 are now open. The Fellowships aim to encourage and assist full-time students in pursuing postgraduate studies by research. Each successful candidate will receive a one-off grant of HK$50,000. The closing date for all applications is 12:00 noon, September 23, 2024. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview in December 2024. Click here for more details.

The University arranges responsible conduct of research (RCR) seminars twice yearly (once in each semester) to foster awareness of research integrity and compliance. The coming RCR seminar has been scheduled for October 18, 2024 (Friday), from 1:45pm to 6:00pm at Lecture Hall II, Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre (CPD-LG.07-LG.10), CPD LG/F, Centennial Campus. Through information sharing and discussion sessions, the seminar addresses research integrity topics such as conflicts of interest, questionable research practices, research data management, and HKU regulations/guidelines. RPg students who have to carry out research are encouraged to attend. Click this link to register for the seminar.
The Entrepreneurial Internship Programme is inviting applications to the Nanjing University Entrepreneurship Study Tour 2024. This tour aims to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and creativity to thrive in the dynamic world of startups. Current HKU students holding a Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card are welcome. Entrepreneurship Academy is a 10-week training course from September to November 2024 for enhancing entrepreneurial skills. Speakers from industry including venture capitalists, startup founders, and domain experts will be invited to share their experiences on global trends, hot topics, and strategies for market development. It is also a great opportunity to interact with like-minded people and get to know the resources available at HKU and the wider startup ecosystem in Hong Kong. Click here for more details.
