Best Poster Presenter Awards
At the HKU Research Postgraduate Symposium cum Award Presentation Ceremony, 130 outstanding research postgraduate students across ten faculties showcased their research ideas and findings with scholars and peers from various fields. Presenters included awardees of the HKU Presidential PhD Scholar Programme admitted in 2022/23 and recipients of the HKU Foundation Publication Award for Research Postgraduate Students 2023 and the Research Postgraduate Student Innovation Award 2023. The poster presentation sessions offered a unique platform for open discussions among students and the audience.
After listening to the presentations and engaging in intellectual discussions with the presenters, the Judging Panel selected 13 presenters for the Best Poster Presenter Awards.
Congratulations to all the winners!
This is a new platform in which our postgraduate students can interact with each other, so that you can have a chance to learn from each other and also to communicate your ideas to a broader audience.
Professor Dong-yan Jin
Senior Associate Dean of the Graduate School
I am very happy to participate in this HKU Research Postgraduate Symposium, and I am delighted to see so many bright, brilliant young scientists and scholars make use of this platform in such a way that it can transform their research career.
Professor Billy Chow
Associate Dean of the Graduate School
I am grateful for this interdisciplinary presentation, which allowed me to see the fascinating research focuses of others and deepened my understanding of my project. Unlike departmental seminars, the audience of the symposium comprises students and professors from across different fields. Hence, the structure of the poster must be crystal clear for even non-professionals to understand, which required me to re-examine my project from different perspectives and re-organise the poster over and over. It was a fun, challenging, and humbling experience to discuss my project with so many people within or outside my research fields.
